Standing bream fishing in early summer

Standing bream fishing in early summerAbnormal weather in the middle lane makes adjustments to the fishing schedule, which has been established for years. As a rule, with the end of the spring ban, spinningists, and not only them, lay fishing rods, grab spinning rods and go to the rivers, where the predator that spawned and is ill after that actively takes almost any bait. This year the picture is somewhat different. Outside is mid-June, and the water on almost all the rivers near Moscow is unusually high, and most importantly, muddy. One could also come to terms with this, but the trouble is that the predator almost never takes it! Even when with the help of an echo sounder it is possible to find a pike perch standing on the brow, it does not turn out to entice him to bite with any bait.

What to do and where to go in such a difficult time? The answer is simple: bodies of water with standing water will help! Lakes, reservoirs, ponds, of course, are also full of water, but it makes sense to go to them. True, not for a predator, which is now taking it extremely badly, but for a bream. I can’t say that bream for me personally is a full-fledged replacement for, say, pike perch, but fishing in this way has its own charms that should not be abandoned. Bream, like other peaceful fish, can be caught in a variety of ways. However, if you approach such fishing not from the point of view of achieving maximum catch, but for the sake of pleasure, then it is worth stopping at three.

Side nod

The first place in my personal ranking is occupied by a rod with a side nod, and this is no coincidence. I will deliberately omit the process of preparing equipment and mounting ingenious fasteners, as well as the choice of mormysheks for summer fishing, which, in my opinion, is even less relevant. The main thing that attracts this fishing method is its entertainment, not only after biting, but, as a rule, before it. Finding this fish in a pond is quite simple, but there are often problems with the capture. Two tactics are possible here. The first is hatching (or rather, standing), the second is hiding. Not every angler has the patience and endurance for a long time to stand almost without movements in one place, waiting for the bream to approach, and having waited, slowly and carefully lower the equipment a little in front of the fish.

But it’s not much easier to move at a snail’s speed behind a flock walking in the grass, and this should be done extremely quietly so as not to frighten an already nervous bream. Any careless movement or a loud sound – and the fish immediately leaves the feeding place, sometimes moves tens of meters and becomes even more careful. Most often, mormyshka successfully works without bait, but at depths over one and a half meters, feeding is already worthwhile. And this sometimes manages to kill two, or even three birds with one stone. If for some reason the bream does not want to fall on the bait and remains in the grass in the upper water horizon, a tench can collect on it, and in the halfway the mormyshka is often enough and an ide that is attracted by falling feed particles.

The main nozzle, as a rule, is a worm, maggot, but it is also possible to use a variety of animals, which is literally around the fisherman: shells, gray leeches, caddis flies, mayfly larvae. Fish often takes this bait much more actively. On the last fishing trips, I tried to use different plant heads and, to my surprise, I found that they are suitable not only for float fishing rods, but also for mammys! With the difference that in this case the game had to be practically baited. Nevertheless, bites did happen.

Feeder

The second place in my rating was given to the feeder – for a high percentage of large fish and amazingly beautiful night bites. It is not difficult to catch with a feeder, at least in reservoirs with stagnant water, however, there are subtleties here. If you know at least approximately the topography of the bottom in the place of fishing or just find a place clean of algae, you can safely start fishing – bites will almost certainly be. But to find the places on which the large bream runs, and also to catch it, is more complicated. In lakes and ponds with a uniform bottom topography, it is worth looking for areas of a clean bottom adjacent to the fields of water thickets, and in reservoirs with a pronounced channel, relatively shallow irrigation adjacent to the piles to the depths is the most promising.

Snap can be very different. For example, I do not use an anti-twist, but prefer a sliding installation of a thick monolesk. In any case, the feeders should be fairly light – 10-25 g. The fishing tips at the depths are still the same: a worm, maggot, its pupae, pearl barley, pasta, and corn and peas are preferred in some reservoirs. An indisputable advantage of this method of fishing is its insensitivity to noise and movements on the shore. Fishing goes at a fairly large distance, so the proximity of some noisy campaign, if it affects the mood, is not a bream, but your own.

Sometimes a wave significantly interferes with fishing, and in order to reduce unnecessary vibrations of the apex, I position the rod so that it is near the water itself. However, with a strong wind, this does not help. In such a case, I have a piece of plywood on a wooden leg that I set above the surface of the water so that the plywood works like a chipper, protecting the fishing line from the wave and wind. You can even lightly put a line under the edge of the plywood – it doesn’t interfere with hooking, but the most delicate bites become noticeable even in a strong wind. For night fishing, a firefly is mounted on top. Watching him in complete darkness is a pleasure. If there is a boat at hand, then the same firefly can be mounted on the buoy, placed next to the fishing point. This helps to throw the equipment in the same place with an accuracy of literally up to a meter.

Float

The third place in the nomination “joy for the eyes” is occupied by the float rod. Of all the options – match, Bologna and others – in this case, preference should be given to the usual flywheel. Again, I will leave aside the question of the choice of equipment and hooks with floats: a lot has been written about this. I will go only to places of fishing. In ponds and lakes, the presence of fish will be told to us by reed, reeds, horsetail and pond. In horsetails, by the way, instead of bream, tench and crucian carp are very common. Bait during fishing is rather obligatory than desirable. Good feeding on a patch previously cleared of vegetation sometimes decides the outcome of fishing. It should be noted that the fishing zone does not have to be cleared ahead of time. You can do this immediately before fishing. For the approach of the fish, the time it takes to knead the bait and prepare the tackle is quite enough, and the turbidity raised from the bottom attracts the fish rather than repels it.

In reservoirs for fishing for bream on a float, areas near the confluence of deep streams are more suitable than others. In such places, the depth at a distance of 8-10 meters from the coast can reach five meters or more. The presence of great depth indicates the proximity of the channel, and therefore, the possibility of approaching the flock bream. As a rule, such places regularly bring very good catches on the Yauz reservoir, Mozhaika, and Vazuz. Well, the classic bream hoist float, known to many of us since childhood, acts simply magically and helps to forget about wobblers and jigs for a week or two. However, not forever, of course.
