The farther in the fall, the more relevant the deeper wobblers become. This review presents models with a depth of about 1.5 m. All four wobblers performed well when fishing primarily for pike, although they were also of interest to other fish.
Tsuribito Jerkbait 105F
Length 105 mm, weight 13 g, floating. The wobbler is intended primarily for catching pike. If earlier this company was mainly known for its ultralight baits, most of the recent new products are wobblers for heavier gear and larger fish. This model is made with a large margin of buoyancy. On the one hand, this is a minus, because too fast a pop-up bait is not the best option for intermittent wiring. On the other hand, this makes it possible to equip a wobbler with a leash of almost any length and quality without risk of worsening the game of the bait. In any case, the "standard" lead from a guitar string No. 2 with a length of 15 centimeters did not affect the game of the bait.
The manufacturer offers more than 20 color options. In my opinion, due to the specifics of this wobbler, “tantalizing” colors – acidic, Red Head, etc., may be most popular. However, the lures of natural colors will also be useful. The wobbler is equipped with two No. 2 tees according to the international classification of quite acceptable quality. No noise camera. The ball on the front tee is intended solely for balancing the bait during posting. The wobbler rotates strongly during casting, which is why range is low. Therefore, it is best to catch them either from a boat, or in those places where the depth begins immediately from the coast. At a depth of 1.5-1.8 meters declared by the manufacturer, a wobbler can be driven only with the help of a fairly quick wiring and using a thin fishing line. The real working horizon is about a meter or a little more.
The wobbler works well on even wiring, but jerking wiring is the main way to maintain this bait. Moreover, due to the increased buoyancy of the bait, the jerking wiring should be active, practically without pauses. In this case, the wobbler goes at the "passport" depth. The wiring itself is, rather, not twitching, but sharper jerks, just what the word jerking is called. The bait actively goes from side to side, turning at the same time almost 90 ° to the direction of movement. Jerkbait 105F is best used in fairly deep, at least 1.5 m, places. Well, it is suitable as a scout bait for finding active fish and promising fishing points.
A-elita Shad 75F
Length 75 mm, weight 11 g, floating. A fairly universal model, in my opinion, is one of the most successful in the A-elita wobbler line. Suitable for both pike fishing and searching for large perch on piles, eyebrows and navels. Wobbler is presented in several coloring options, both realistic and fantasy. Realistic colors imitate fodder objects familiar to our fish: perch, roach, rudd. Now it makes sense to use them, leaving the acid tanks for summer fishing more active fish. The buoyancy margin of the wobbler allows the use of string leashes 10-12 cm long without deteriorating the game of the bait. At the same time, the wobbler pops up much slower than the previous model, which makes slower and more delicate wiring possible. The wobbler is equipped with two tees No. 8 for international numbering. The tees on the woblers of the old series were of poor quality, and they needed to be changed to sharper ones. On the "fresh" bait from A-elit'y are hooks of much better quality.
The wobbler is equipped with a rattle, which simultaneously performs the role of a balancing load during casting. For baits of this size, it flies well. The main wiring options are uniform and stop & go with pauses from one to three seconds, during which the wobbler pops up. With pauses, it is better not to overdo it, limiting yourself to two or three for posting. The wobbler quickly gains depth and during wiring goes 1.5-2 meters from the surface of the water. It is also not bad if during wiring the wobbler will periodically touch the bottom with a spatula, raising a cloud of turbidity. You should not be afraid of hooks in this case: the wobbler goes almost upright and the contact of the bait hooks with the bottom debris is almost completely excluded.
The model is good in that even at the slowest speed it has a quite pronounced game and allows you to catch fish, standing both halfway and near the bottom. Therefore, we can recommend this wobbler for those situations when the fish is inactive and only responds to baits moving at a minimum speed near their parking lots. The bait is well suited for finding fish in an unfamiliar reservoir, when the fishing points and the intended prey are unknown and a universal bait is required, with which you can catch a significant thickness of water.
Asakura Perch 8 DR-F
Length 80 mm, weight 16.2 g, floating. The bait is made by order of the St. Petersburg company Albacor. The body shape resembles the well-known wobbler Perch company Salmo. But, despite the external resemblance, in fact it is a completely different bait, which differs in both the game and the conditions of use. Of all the Asakura lures, this model is perhaps the most suitable for pike fishing weighing from a kilogram – at least in the middle lakes. The wobbler is equipped with two high-quality Owner No. 2 tees. The “rattle” of the wobbler is a complex system consisting of several noise and balancing balls, which, in addition, provide good flight characteristics of the wobbler.
The “passport” deepening of the wobbler is 1.5-2 m. The execution of the wobbler is not satisfactory, in this regard it is not inferior to more expensive counterparts. Wobbler is offered in 15 colors, both realistic type Green Perch, and "annoying" (Red Head or Clown). In conditions of the middle zone, the baits of natural colors – Green Perch and White Pearl proved to be the best, although in poor lighting conditions and in murky waters the more noticeable Hot Perch or Holo Shad worked.
The combination of impressive mass for a given wobbler size and balls moving inside the wobbler makes it really long-range, allowing you to catch a very wide area even when fishing from the shore. The wobbler is very active and noisy due to the built-in “noise chamber”. Perhaps this is the “loudest” wobbler of the review: not only a fish, but also a fisherman can hear it rattle, especially at the end of the wiring. Due to the bright acoustic effect and active play, the wobbler performed well on peat lakes with dark water, when the fish did not notice more quiet baits. The wobbler works best on uniform wiring at a slow and medium pace, going a meter and a half from the surface.
The bait turned out to be effective even in conditions of poor biting, being a peculiar irritant for pike. Pike often leaves behind it from a depth of 3-4 meters, than other models can not boast of far from always. This wobbler can be recommended to all pike hunters, regardless of fishing conditions – and on small rivers, and toads, and on the expanses of reservoirs. If you plan to fish only in shallow water or only in depth, it makes sense to pay attention to the same model, but in the SR or SDR version.
Yo-Zuri 3D Minnow
Length 65 mm, weight 7 g, sinking. A universal model that has proven itself both when fishing for not very large pike, and when hunting for perch or zander. However, it attracts pike very effectively – for this reason, and fell into this review. The wobbler is declared as a suspender, but in fact it is slowly sinking, which must be taken into account when selecting a leash and during wiring. It is better to use a leash with a maximum length of 10 cm from a guitar string No. 1. A possible option to increase the buoyancy of a wobbler is to replace two of its tees No. 6 with lighter ones. Tees are of good quality, and if there is no problem to adjust the buoyancy of the bait, they do not need to be replaced. The wobbler is equipped with a rattle of several balls. Their role in increasing the casting range can hardly be considered significant.
Throwing a wobbler is not bad, at the level of other wobblers of similar sizes. It can be driven either by uniform wiring, or by jerking in various variations. On uniform wiring, the wobbler shows a medium-amplitude, moderately active game, often well acting on a not very active pike. During posting, it is useful to make several pauses lasting two to three seconds, during which the wobbler slowly sinks. The bite can be expected after the resumption of winding. When jerking, the wobbler walks in a fairly wide corridor, deviating from the direction of movement by about 60 °. It provokes a good pike both with aggressive twitching and with a calmer rhythm of posting. Using this wobbler as a twitching, you must be prepared to bite the perch.
The bait is best used with not very high fish activity, when pike reacts poorly to wobblers with a more active game. This model may be especially relevant now, when fishing for coastal thickets of grass or coastal brow.
