This spring I got a new spinning rod for twitching large wobblers – Black Hole Booster 692H. He lay idle for some time, since I devoted most of the fishing to a white predator. And so I decided that it was time to uncover!
He arrived at the familiar small river near Moscow in the early morning. I wanted to “break in” the novelty on different types of lures, but the main thing, of course, was the 130th minnow.
I started from a perch place, although perch there often flies very humpbacked. The place is a quiet backwater behind a tree fallen to half the river with a depth of about two meters. For starters, put Itumo Deep Spier 55Sp. The first bite was not long in coming. A tiny string flew under my feet and ate my wobbler. Hooray, with an initiative, Booster!
In the same place, the elder sister of this lace, a pike per kilo, was waiting for her prey. Of course, she did not miss the gentle twitching with pauses of my wobbler. Since the shore is uncomfortable and it is not an option to go down, I had to drag the little pike with a crane on a spinning rod. Well, how to drag it out, on a stick with dough up to 40 grams a kilo flew ashore a few seconds later over his head.
After the bites stopped, I decided to switch to a jig. In the conditions of a small river, all movements of baits are perfectly tracked along the cord, so I calmly caught on the usual 6-12 grams. The driftwood did not bring bites, but on a sandy navel in the middle of the river, someone hung on Savamura One Up Shad 4 ’on a jig head 12 gr. For a long time, I could not understand who it was at that end. I was ready to see a sommy or burbot, but certainly not a pike perch! But damn it, it was him, though small, but fanged! I didn’t think that he could go so high upstream, because for many years of fishing, my friends and I have never managed to get into the mythical Zonder here. For this, by the way, I got a nice fit from the spinning sensei in the form of Pure-hee from Smith 2.5 grams.
Letting go of the pike perch, I notice the activity of white fish on the surface at the roll. Why not leave the heels? Fluorocarbon leash, small clasp, everything is as it should! There are some contacts on Tsuribito Sweet Сrank … I’m implementing another bite by a local sailor. And on small things I caught spinnig =]
After that, I decide to run into the 130th mine, as I planned … Rudra twirls easily and naturally, but it is a pity to throw her into the scrap bucket. But Tsu’oshkin Balisong in acid yellow called Draga is just that. Where the jig was silent, on the very first postings I notice an exit right at my feet. And the hole is about 3 meters. I throw the lure right in front of me and start pulling almost plumb. I see how the pike comes out again and misses, but in the end it still clings to Draga. I continue to catch in the same place, increase the pauses, and the next little pike could not resist! This is already a kilo, the first jerk even strained Booster. But there are practically no chances of getting off these powerful hooks, all the more so, even though the form is tough, it works out on a fight.
After that I get the third bite from the same heel without continuing, and safely plant Draga in the snag. For some reason, there were no bites on other wobblers, and I decided that today I had quite a good punishment for local predators, so I can go home with a clear conscience.
