Today I made another exit to the chub rivulet. Two days ago there was quite a strong and prolonged rain; this, of course, was reflected in the water level and its transparency. There was a short exit to the river yesterday, but, alas, completely inconclusive. The water in the river was very muddy, and even a bite was not achieved.
And then again the river, the water level was reduced, but not significantly, the water became significantly more transparent. Today I used the following kit: SOULS Explorer Trout Finalist TF-E56ULS rod, Shimano 12’Rarenium 1000s reel with Varivas Nogales Dead or Alive Finesse Master PEx4 0.3 cord.
The first thing went to the proven pits. I caught it with a hesitation, rolls, there was no result at all. In a similar way I caught a couple of holes, the result is extremely modest – only a couple of slurred bites. Doubts about the successful outcome of today's fishing began to creep into my head. I decide to try to put a Namazu Booi cicada weighing 7 grams. Casting beneath the rocky shore of the pit, I start the wiring, and I feel some kind of too strong resistance of the bait during the wiring. Well, she could not play so actively … I bring to the shore, and there is a very small chub. It seems that he grabbed the bait at the time of its sinking to the bottom.
Then I still managed to catch another chub in the wiring, the size is slightly larger. But anyway, with this bait I expected to meet something more significant, but apparently not today.
Then began a plot with less deep-water pits, most often the depth was 80-120 centimeters. The pits are local, but very, very interesting. And in general, I managed to find a fish on them. The dip roll of Namazu Tatar showed itself very well.
Almost every hole brought either a bite or the capture of a small chub. Wobblerock was just perfect for catching such points, and perhaps because of its light colors in the muddy water, chubs liked it.
Very strange, but the points with deep holes are worse and worse. Although before, I almost always caught only on them, and the result was always good. In fact, the fish should already begin to slide into these pits, yet it is already almost mid-autumn, but the chub does not seem to be in a hurry to do this. Although, of course, these are just assumptions, maybe in the winter it will stay in the holes with a depth of a meter, time will tell.
In the meantime, I was already approaching the extreme point of the planned route, there was already a lot of time, and I decided to just go back without fishing. As a result, about a dozen chubs were caught for today's sortie, in general, the result is not bad, especially considering the fact that yesterday there were no bites at all.
