Autumn storm. Navigator HARMIN led us out of the flurry. We pulled an emergency boat (with people)

September 13, 2019 12:32

September 11 We, Aleksandr Alekseich, sailed from the base of Krenica on a Pella boat. On the Novoladozhsky channel we reached 7 km. At the base of the LOOiR, along the branch channel (2 km), we climbed out to Ladoga and put 15 zergelits, having acquired them with carp. On the map, this is point G.

THE DIMENSION OF THE DEPTHS INDICATED ON THE MAP SHOULD BE REDUCED BY A METER – – Ladoga is very shallow.

The weather was beautiful: the southeast wind was 2 – 4 meters / sec, the air temperature was +15 C, light cirrus clouds and the sun.

Between the banks, before going out into the open water, we caught a couple of pike pike and two tiny 200 grams each on spinning rods. Trifle released.

At the exit to the Lake, we twice caught on the grass with wobblers. Then we went over the rocky bottom and I noticed that the wind sharply crumpled. I didn’t like it and I wanted to say this to Alekseyich, they say we need to wander! But … he got another kilush pike (point 1).

We spent five minutes on it. I also abandoned the wobbler and began to cherish, forgetting about my premonition of bad weather. In less than five minutes, a flurry of 15 m / s hit us. I then (according to the forecast) calculated that it would blow by night, but … "a person assumes and Aeolus disposes." (Aeolus – the ancient Greeks called the capricious god of the winds).

The exposed map is copied from the memory of the Garmin “Etrex20” fishfinder. This echo sounder allows you to see your travel track on your computer at home and analyze the distance traveled. This is desirable to do after each fishing trip, which will next time make it possible to avoid mistakes.

At that time, the wind quickly swayed large waves with “lamb”. I was wearing a thin knitted T-shirt with short sleeves and knitted trousers. The waves beat like a sledgehammer on the bottom of our boat and each of them gave me a shower. We had to turn the boat against the wind and waves (plot 1 – 3).

After 10 minutes, the wind and waves weakened, I just decided to change clothes, as it blew out with renewed vigor. I recalled the words from Vysotsky’s song:

"And do not stop,

And do not change your legs … "

further I added from myself:

“Our whole body is wet

And full of boots! ”

I began to freeze – I hardly moved on the steering wheel. I had to remember the hobby of youth by yogis and I began to do “static gymnastics”. Warmed up. Waves flooded the boat, sneakers were full of water. I periodically scooped up water from the boat with the ladle in the boat.

When we reached point 3, due to the shallows washed by Volkhov (sand), the waves became smaller. I got the opportunity to go along the shallows towards the Volkhov forwarder so as not to run aground and get rid of life-threatening danger (section 3-4).

In the GARMIN navigator, I still identified a danger zone with a lilac line at home. On the water, realizing that we were going to the northern end of the shallows, I took it even further north to go around it and go out to the forwarder. By section 4-5, we successfully reached the forwarding of the beacons 3-4. In Volkhov, the waves were low and only the current and the wind prevented us there. We approached the pier of the Krenica base with a motor and HARMINO – I was ready to pray for them: they saved us!

I was wet all the way. At the camper, he quickly changed into everything dry and became warm immediately. I have cognac reserves

there was no choice and we went to the Sukhanovsky store to replenish them. 250 grams was enough for me and I fell asleep.

In the morning, I hardly got up: all the muscles ached – muscle strain from overstrain.

But I didn’t catch a cold

STATIC GYMNASTICS HELPED.!

We entered the water at noon without any desire to go to the open Ladoga. At 7km we again caught a pair of squinting at 20 cm: let go. Fifteen zerglitsa not a single bite.

Nature is somehow strange preparing for winter. The leaves of water lilies have already sunk under the water. The shooter wilted and almost all disappeared under the water.

Horsetails in Ladoga have dried up and stand like the tips of a fishing rod. When you touch them with an oar, the ini ring like glass.

On most mountain ash berries ripened and the leaf was already yellowed.

The wind rips off the leaves and they fly along the canal. On the channel, I know a couple of wild apple trees. The earth beneath them is covered with apple apples.

It seems that all the signs of autumn are visible, but a lot of mayflies fly over the water. Not all swallows flew away: there is food.

Herons all flew away and starlings are not visible. The osprey has become much bolder: it flies closer to people much closer. Rooks still do not even stray in packs.

Here bitter wormwood took advantage of the warm weather and issued a second growth of leaves. The leaves and stems that have grown in the spring have already dried up and the growth turns green under them.

In general, nature does not understand: autumn is not autumn.

When we were leaving the place of setting the zherlits (not salty), we saw an emergency boat ahead of us. Their motor broke down and they tried to break through the wind on an inflatable boat with oars against the wind. The inflatable boat has a lot of windage and therefore all the forces of the men were spent on the fight against Aeolus. We approached them and offered our help. They rejoiced! One of them remained in the boat.

The second of them got into our boat on a medium bank. His task was to raise the tow hitch so that he would not fall under the screw during maneuvering. We safely dragged them 7 km to their base, moored to their pier and drove off to Krenica.

Several boats with very careful fishermen met along the canal: they hid from the wind and fished in the reeds of the Novoladozh Canal.

At the base we had lunch, took a nap for an hour and drove home. On the way, we washed the car with a shower.

We reached the house almost without traffic jams and unloaded already without rain.

The trip turned out to be difficult but I am satisfied: it is not in vain that I feed my navigator, enter all fishing points in it and mark dangerous places ..
