With a feeder in late summer

With a feeder in late summerAugust is the most favorable month for open water fishing in the near Moscow region. The fish as a whole continues to adhere to the summer diet, pecks both at animals and plant tips, moves a lot along the reservoir. Larger cool nights and chilly morning mists for the “weekend” fishermen are only on hand: there are noticeably fewer vacationers on the shores, and bathers and jet skiers, if they appear, are closer to dinner. However, with the cooling of shallow water, the fish gradually departs from the coast, so that the fisherman has to reach it. Catching match tackle, it’s sometimes difficult to see the float in the morning haze, but with a swoop you will not always find a place where the channel comes close enough to the shore. A very practical tackle for catching whites in August is a feeder.

Nowadays, fishing plots and payers, numerous yacht clubs, lovers of water activities and just crowds of vacationers on the banks, "weekend fishermen" who travel by public transport, there are less and less accessible reservoirs for fishing. The Istra Reservoir is one of them. With some knowledge and dexterity here, as a rule, you can count on very good catches. It is not surprising that this pond is one of the most loved anglers in the suburbs. There are many small and medium-sized fish — scavenger, silver bream, roach — here, but this does not mean at all that it is easy to catch. Both skills and patience are needed, especially when fishing on the English bottom tackle, or feeder.

On bodies of water with a weak current, and the Istra Reservoir is just that, the middle class feeder rod is quite suitable – both casting distance and sensitivity are optimal. The length of the rod is desirable 3.6 m, the test is up to 80 g. The vertex is single-headed, although it can also be fished with a half-round. A three thousandth inertialess coil is desirable with a special mechanism for operatively switching the friction clutch, or a beitraner. Regarding the choice of fishing line for feeder fishing – how many people, so many opinions. Many people use special feeder monophiles as the main fishing line – sinking, with a minimum stretching coefficient, with a diameter of 0.22-0.26 mm. The main fishing line lies at the bottom and does not attract fish attention. Another thing is snap.

The fact that in calm water it is not worth using anti-twist tubes can not be discussed. If, say, on the rapid Klyazma near Moscow below Schelkovo, the anti-twist is useful, then on the reservoir it only scares away the fish. Popular snap-ons are symmetrical and asymmetrical loops. Symmetric loop is very sensitive, but gives a little more overlap during casting than asymmetric. In addition, it should be borne in mind that sometimes fishing occurs on the lower edge, where the current, although not strong, is nevertheless noticeable, so I prefer an asymmetrical loop. For its manufacture, I use fluorocarbon fishing line with a diameter of 0.2 mm. A 25 g feeder is attached through a snap hook snap hook. I also make the leash fluorocarbon, with a diameter of 0.14 mm. Hook number 10 according to international classification.

You can prepare the bait yourself, but now there are many mixtures from domestic and foreign manufacturers at affordable prices in fishing shops. When you bait yourself, you have to buy crackers, bran, milk powder, butter, corn grits, pops and much more, so a considerable amount also goes into the circle. Therefore, in my opinion, the right decision is to purchase ready-made baits. However, you can spend a lot of money on them, but not achieve the desired effect. Those who often buy ready-made baits know that the Unicorm Base budget mix works quite satisfactorily. It has all the necessary bait fillers. And if you add the signature Sensas Aromix Bremes flavoring and a pinch of small bloodworms, you’ll get an excellent bait in general. There is very little flavoring: a half-liter bottle can last for two seasons. The flavor must be diluted in water in a ratio of 1 to 10 and use the resulting solution to knead the bait.

A more expensive bait option is dry Sensas Bremes mixed with Unicorm Base. A package of more expensive imported bait can be divided into several parts and added to Unicorm. Attachments for fishing in Istria are standard: large bloodworms, barley, worm. But the tactics of fishing has a number of features. First of all, on fine August days you should look for places unsuitable for swimming. It is nice, of course, to sit comfortably on the sandy shore early in the morning, but by eleven o'clock there will surely be a crowd of lovers to plunge and sunbathe. After choosing a place, you should study the bottom topography by tapping it with a cheburashka – the flexible top of the feeder will win back when the load falls to the bottom. Comparing the time of the fall of the Cheburashka to the bottom, it is possible to calculate how the edge or the shaft passes: the Catherine Canal forms shafts on Istra that run parallel to the channel.

In some areas, you can drop the feeder to the shaft, where large fish can feed. Having an idea of the bottom topography and determining the casting distance, markings fixing the distance to the lower edge or recess in front of the shaft and to the top of the shaft or upper edge should be made with a special waterproof marker on the fishing line. Moreover, the marks should be different, for example, a solid line and a dash-dot line. It is better to catch with two feeders, and both types of marks should be on each fishing line.

After starting feeding at different levels and casting feeders, the expectation of bite begins. If in the debut of fishing such a win-win universal attachment as a large bloodworm is used, bites will begin no later than in a quarter of an hour. A few husters caught will show where the fish are currently holding, and then the second gear should be reset to the same level. But on the second feeder, you can use another nozzle, such as a worm or several barley. A small horsetail will not bring down these nozzles, but they will be interested in bream that can feed on the same horizon.
