New places of uncharted rivulet

Another summer June day, an early cool morning, unfamiliar places and a new river for research. Seversky Donets is a little tired, and he gives out large perch in my places less and less, nevertheless, you can catch it in pleasure. But today there are other plans. A day has been selected, new places are marked on the map, and an inconspicuous rivulet should become quite noticeable. The goal is the same – to catch microjig and go as far as possible in search of promising places, and I’ll only rejoice at everything caught in addition to this walk.

He got quickly, but carefully. The road leaves much to be desired, but you can slowly get there. Upon arrival at the river, I was surprised by its small width. In some places the river can be called a stream. He drew attention to the transparency of water. It is crystal clear, the bottom over a long stretch is flat and without any terrain, everything can be seen in the polarized glasses in the literal sense of the word, but I will focus on local snags. And I love driftwood, they always have fish at any time of the day. The water is already warm enough, perches should be very active.

As you know, perch is a schooling fish. But if you want to catch large individuals and not get involved in catching small ones, you should catch the territory deeper and further away. In my case, this is the opposite shore, to which it is possible to toss it with one pendulum movement of the brush. Although, catching differently here especially will not work. The most promising approach to catching such places is to cast perpendicular to the river. Catching occurs accurate and consistent – from the opposite shore to the one on which I am. I capture both the channel and the coastal part – I have to catch, for sure.

Today with me is a small Aquatic S-15 bag, which I have equipped with four small boxes and one wallet. When I go to unfamiliar ponds with ultralight gear, I always bring along a two-sided box of Meiho Run Gun Case 1010W-1 with ready-made mounts on one side and passive baits on the other side, Meiho Light Game Case J with a combination of passive and active baits, two-sided Meiho in the form of a turtle with spare loads and hooks and a classic small box with active baits. I also carry a small wallet with micro-vibrations and turntables – this is an actual offer for summer perch. With such a set of lures I can catch, at least try, in any body of water. I’ll check what the unexplored alluring river will tell me.

Here I am in place, following a small dam downstream. There are quite a lot of approaches to the river, the picturesque nature only motivates to fish and relax in body and soul. The river covers the field and the forest, therefore, today it is planned to go through these two locations. I decided to start fishing with the classics – this is a 2-inch Bait Breath Fish Tail Ringer in 106 colors. Year-round bait, which works always, everywhere and in any conditions. As it turned out later, I did not even have to put other baits.

The first casts turned out to be single. I attribute this to the fact that there is no relief, as such, and the bottom is clean, without obvious ambushes for perch. I move further and now I see the first and not the most evil snag. Local branches stick out of the water, I send the installation directly to them. Passing a snag with a passive bait is easier in view of the intended animation. The animation is short, step by step, with long pauses. Therefore, you can easily jump over a snag. And the fish showed itself literally right away. The first good perch flaunts at a photo shoot. The color is just incredible. The contrast of the strips is maximum. Perhaps – he is the only one, but maybe – this is the regularity of the rivulet. We managed to remove a few more perches from the point, but they all turned out to be of a sporting size and unsuitable for a photo shoot.

I follow next. You see a sharp turn of the river, I go to him. Once again, coastal crusts and, as it turned out, again the pleasant size of perches. All the same, with the coloring of the fish the question is not random, it is a local pattern here. The lion’s share of perches has pronounced orange fins, black tiger stripes and a bronze body. When you hold such a nice perch in such a natural coloring – the eye and the camera lens rejoice.

It makes no sense to describe the further fishing process – today it was familiarization and identical. In particular, the catching of completely unfamiliar places with any visual attachments – branches hanging over the water, crusts, vegetation. But, at almost every point, I was able to seduce from one to four perches. An interesting note – the smaller the river, the smaller the perch schools. In this case, it really is. But, if you often alternate points, then you can catch a lot and qualitatively.

The first fishing in an unfamiliar place was excellent. Perch measured, peck actively, resist already in a summer – very briskly and naturally. For half a day I managed to catch perfectly on large ultralight perches. The bait performed perfectly, the cord did not fail again, and the new atmosphere only added discord to subsequent trips here. Everything worked out, and this is the main thing. I’ll definitely go on a date with the new river several more times – I need to explore the route on a larger scale.
